Sparkley quirky beany new talent - Vicki Vanderent Coffee Bean Records collectivite Vicki Vanderent's debut album is currently in its final brewing stages in the Coffee Bean Studios. Vanderent's music is as emotionally endearing as it is comical and quirky. Destined to be a great Australian debut. New releases by Phil Graham Band and Naomi Sunderland are due out in 2009. Watch this space for free downloads and release info. Coffee Bean North America Coffee Bean's North America rep Greg Hoyle is heading down under in November to meet with the local co-op of coffee bean musicians and producers. This is an big development for Coffee Bean and will mean a renewed 'on the ground' effort to get local Brisbane music onto the international scene. The workshop will be followed by live lunchtime performances in the centre of the Library by Tim Gaze, Phil Graham, and other musicians. Coffee Bean Records will also run a "Coffee Bean Showcase" on Sunday 30 September as part of the Sunday Acoustics Program. The session will feature live performances by Naomi Sunderland and the Phil Graham Band. Phil and Tim will also run a Basics of Home Recording Workshop on that day. A tasteful blend of blues, folk, jazz, and classical influences, Reunion features performances by some of Australia’s finest musicians, including Les Foyle, Tim Gaze, Steve Roy, and Peter (Willy) Willersdorf. These players have for decades been “behind the scenes” for many great Australian artists. The Reunion happened when the group got together in early 2006. New album ‘Red Dirt Road’ has new folk sound Naomi Sunderland’s debut album, Red Dirt Road is a delicate and powerful album that combines all the elements of the “new folk” movement emerging in Brisbane.
