The coffee bean story

We started Coffee Bean Records to get original local music into places where you can listen to it: book stores, gift shops, websites, cafes. We use Creative Commons licenses so there’s no fee for you to download and listen to our artists’ singles. Creative Commons is an artist-centred copyright system that began at Stanford University in the USA and has been adapted for artists in other countries, including Australia.

We believe that music is meant to be shared and that music-making should be a part of daily life for those who are so inclined. The artists on this label have worked together in a creative-collaborative process to create an original and organic style of music that can be made and shared in multiple venues and formats.
